Aerohive Wi-Fi helps school district with limited IT staff

The Diocese of San Bernardino was looking to deploy a 1:1 student-to-device program, providing iPads at several of its schools. These issues coupled with limited IT budget and staff made it clear that the Diocese needed to find an enterprise-grade wireless solution.

The Diocese of San Bernardino was established in 1978 and serves over 1.2 million Catholics and spans across San Bernardino and Riverside counties. There are a total of 29 Catholic schools within the Diocese including three high schools, 23 K-8 schools and three preschools.

Prior to Aerohive, none of the 29 schools had a solid wireless infrastructure, and without an enterprise-class Wi-Fi solution, this led to inconsistent device management.

Aerohive was chosen for its cloud-based, cost-effective wireless solution that provided central network management, as well as being the only vendor that truly offered a cloud-based solution.

The Diocese utilizes Aerohive access points and switches, as well as centralized cloud management with HiveManager Online and ID Manager for simplified guest management.

Aerohive’s solution also provides integrated enrollment support for its AirWatch MDM solution.
